EMP-Protectors USN Series
The USN-series is designed to provide protection against surge and interference voltages as feed-through type mechanical unit for data and control line systems. Depending on the specific application different types are availble. The highly effective multi-stage transient protection design combined with filtering components provides excellent protection against the effects of atmospheric discharges (lightning, electrostatic discharge) or a High Altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse (HEMP), sometimes also referred to as Nuclear Electro-Magnetic Pulse (NEMP) or simply EMP. Special features of this series of protection circuits include high surge current capability, compact feed-through design and simple installation directly to Faraday cage. The USN-Series will be threat-level tested against EMP according to MIL-STD-188-125, short pulse and intermediate pulse.
USN-22001 2 * VDSL / ADSL / ISDN / POTS
Meteolabor® USN-22001 protects two telephone wire pairs of analog or digital telephone subscriber lines (POTS, ISDN,DSL, ADSL, VDSL) against the effects of lightning and EMP.USN-22001 has pluggable WAGO MCS Micro terminalblocks with locking levers and CAGE CLAMP® contacts. Thewires are easy to install by using the supplied operating toolor a matching screw driver.For best protection results a feed-through installation froman unprotected volume into a shielded and protected roomis recommended.USN-22001 protector/filter is designed to be used in fixedinstallations (buildings, underground shelters etc.) as well asin portable and mobile systems like containers or sheltersand vehicles, which need to be EMP-tested according toRS105 of MIL-STD-461F. USN-40001 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
Meteolabor® USN-40001 combines the protection of twopieces Meteolabor® USS-2-AQ in one case to provideexcellent protection for two twisted pairs of a 10/100 Mbit/sEthernet connection of sensitive electronics such ascomputers, telecommunication equipment etc. against theeffects of lightning and EMP.USN-40001 has shielded RJ45 jacks and can be easilyinstalled by using of-the-shelf patch cables. For best resultsshielded cables are recommended.Input and output of USN-40001 are isolated by a magneticcircuit which provides best protection and filtering effect in afeed-through installation from an unprotected volume into ashielded and protected room. USN-40002 Surge Protector / Filter RS422 / RS485 / PROFIBUS
Meteolabor® USN-40002 protects two wire pairs of RS422 /RS485 / PROFIBUS interfaces against the effects of lightningand EMP.
