The CSP-series consists of a number of surge protection devices for the protection of coaxial RF-cables.

CSP-series protection devices can be installed as feed-through components directly into a bulkhead such as the wall of a shielded room. This diverts surge currents on the outer conductor to the grounded shield. Overvoltage surges on the inner conductor are limited with respect to the outer conductor.

Depending on the application different protection technologies with varying protection levels are used. The transient residual let-through energy strongly depends on the protection technology and the temporal behaviour of the overvoltage surge. Therefore standardized pulse shapes and a load impedance matched to line impedance are used for specification.

GDT-technology (Gas Discharge Tube) has the advantage of broadband and extremely low insertion loss protection from DC (e.g. for remote powering of an external antenna)  up to several GHz. The protection levels are limited due to the large bandwidth and are mostly determined by the behaviour of the gas discharge tube.

Stubline technology, also called lambda/quater or quater wave technology, works like a bandpass  filter for a certain passband. Advantages are low attenuation in the passband and high surge current capability.

Highpass filter technology blocks low frequencies while having low insertion loss in the passband. This permits relatively low transient residual energies. Special versions additionally permit DC-feed-through for remote powering over the coaxial cable.

CSP-40101 Coax Protector, DC-1GHz, 150W, N-N

CSP-40101 protects a coaxial cable with N-connectors using gas discharge tube technology. Frequencies from DC to 1 GHz and RF power up to 150W pass almost unchanged, overvoltages are short-circuited to the outer conductor by a powerful gas tube arrester.  CSP-40101 datasheet

Frequencies from 806 to 2500 MHz and RF power up to 500W pass almost unchanged, DC and low frequencies are blocked. CSP-73101 Coax Protector, 2-6GHz, 300W, N-N

CSP-73101 protects a coaxial cable with N-connectors using stubline technology. Frequencies from 2000 MHz to 6000 MHz and RF power up to 300W pass almost unchanged, DC and low frequencies are blocked. CSP-81101 Coax Protector, DC+650-2500 MHz, 50W, N-N

CSP-81101 protects a coaxial cable with N-connectors using hybrid gas discharge tube and filter technology. Frequencies from 650 MHz  to 2500 MHz and RF power up to 50W pass almost unchanged, additionally CSP-81101 passes DC voltages up to 15V and currents up to 3A. The PLP-Series consists of highly effective EMP Surge Protection Filter Devices (SPD's) for NEMP / HEMP / EMP protection as well as for lightning surge protection according to IEC class I+II+III.PLP-series SPD's are surge protection filters designed for feed-through installation into a bulkhead such as the metallic wall of a shielded room. This makes PLP-series SPD's to work simultaneously as protection against transient overvoltage surges as well as an excellent EMC-solution against conducted high frequency disturbances.  

PLP-Series products are threat-level HEMP-tested according to MIL-STD-188-125. Additonally the PLP-series is approved against the mechanical shock of a 3 bar blast according to Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection (BABS, formerly BZS) and is therefore especially suited to protect fixed facilities. 

PLP-44041 3-phase 40A Powerline Protection PLP-44041 is a very effective EMP-Protector / Filter to protect a three phase 400/230V AC power supply with operating current up to 40A per phase. PLP-44041 combines NEMP / HEMP-protection with lightning surge protection IEC class I+II+III and an EMC filter having very high attenuation up to GHz range.For safety reasons (relatively high AC-leakage current) PLP-44041 is only suited for installations with permanent ground connection.

The USN-series is designed to provide protection against surge and interference voltages as feed-through type mechanical unit for data and control line systems. Depending on the specific application different types are availble. The highly effective multi-stage transient protection design combined with filtering components provides excellent protection against the effects of atmospheric discharges (lightning, electrostatic discharge) or a High Altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse (HEMP), sometimes also referred to as Nuclear Electro-Magnetic Pulse (NEMP) or simply EMP.
